Pepito Perez, 79, Orpheum headliner for many years where he was billed as Pepito the Spanish Clown, died July 13, 1975, of cancer at his home in Santa Ana, California. He had made his residence there for the past 15 years where he and his wife conducted a dance school.
Born in Spain, he came to the U.S. in the middle 1920s, and one of his best jobs was to appear in the prologue for Charlie Chaplin’s “THe Circus” at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood in 1928. He subsequently went into vaude as a pantomimist. becoming a headliner, and also made a number of motion pictures and did tv appearances.
Surviving are his wife and sisters in Spain.
